What makes the following sentence a weak argument? Ear buds are probably doing serious physical damage to their inner eardrums or even the brain itself, but apparently that doesn’t bother anyone. A) The author is not a medical doctor. B) The sentence is not a weak argument. C) The author is too angry to be persuasive. D) The author is speculating, but not providing concrete evidence.

The correct answer is D) The author is speculating, but not providing concrete evidence. When writing a strong argument, the details have to be exact, reliable, and concrete in order to persuade the audience in a better way. Some words used by the author such as probably and apparently make the argument weak because they make the information look untrue.
