Each month Manuel reads 6 novels so you get

n = 6m
If you plug in 13 for m we get

n = 6(13) = 78
Manuel needs to read 78 novels in 13 months.

Answer: The number of novels he read in 13 months = 78.

Explanation:

Given : Manuel needs to read 6 novels each month.

i.e. In One month , the number of novels read by Manuel = 6

Let N be the number of novels Manuel needs to read in M months.

Then , N = 6 M

Thus , the equation relating N to M : N = 6 M

If Number of months = 13 , then put M = 13 in the above equations , we get

N=6(13)= 78

Hence, the number of novels he read in 13 months = 78.
