The point-slope form of a line that has a slope of 2/3 and passes through point (6, 0) is shown below.

y - 0 = 2/3 (x - 6)
What is the equation in slope-intercept form?

Answer:

Explanation:

The point slope form equation is given as following

y - 0 = 2/3 (x - 6)

to get the slope intercept form we need to change it to y=mx+b form

so we simplify the given equation

y - 0 = 2/3 (x - 6)

y= 2/3x-2/3*6 (Distribute)

y=(2)/(3) x-(12)/(3)

y=(2)/(3) x-4

Slope-intercept form of that would be y = 2/3x - 4.

All you would do is distribute then isolate the Y using mathematical devices. In this example you don't really have to do anything but just for explanation purposes, you would add 0 to both sides.
