A seamstress has a piece of cloth that is 3 yards long. She cuts it into shorter lengths of 16 inches each. How many of the shorter pieces can she cut?

6.75 or almost 7 16 in pieces

The seamstress can cut 6 shorter pieces.

If you convert 3 yards into inches, you would get 108 inches. Then you divide it by 16 to see how many shorter pieces you would get. You would get 6.75, but you would only have 6 complete pieces.
