Distributive property is to share or give part of something like “Anna gives two chocolates to 2 of her friends” in math an example is this “2(7+8)” When you have a expression like this you are distributing the 2 in the () meaning that you are multiplying 2 by both 7 and 8.

The distributive property of multiplication over addition can be used when you multiply a number by a sum. For example, suppose you want to multiply 3 by the sum of 10 + 2. 3(10 + 2) = ? According to this property, you can add the numbers and then multiply by 3.
