If we use the place value chart, we can see that the decimal 0.2 is two tenths so we can write 0.2 as the fraction
(2)/(10). The fraction
(2)/(10) is not in lowest terms so we have to divide both the numerator and the denominator by 2.

2 ÷ 2 = 1

10 ÷ 2 = 5

Therefore, the decimal 0.2 can be written as the fraction
(1)/(5), which is in lowest terms.
