Hey there!

(-4, 1) would be located in the second quadrant.

Let's start at the origin.

Then, move 4 units to the left because we have -4 (negative) as the x value.

After that, move 1 unit up because we have 1 (positive) as the y value.

The point is located in the Top-Left corner, which is Quadrant II.
