100-25 = 75
540 x 0.75=405
405x 0.06 = 24.3
405- 24.3 =380.7

Hello! So, the golf clubs originally costed $540. There is a 25% discount, which means 75% of the price still has to be paid, because 100 - 25 = 75. Multiply 540 by 75% to get the new price. 540 * 75% (0.75) is 405. Now, there is a 6% sales tax on the clubs. Add 1 to the rate in decimal form. 1 + 0.06 is 1.06. Now, multiply 1.06 by 405 to get the total price. 405 * 1.06 is 429.3. There. The final price of the clubs is $429.30.
