One animal dies in a desert area. With the help of scavengers and bacteria it decomposes completely in the hot sun. A second animal dies while drinking in a stream. The body is covered in sediment before it decomposes. Which is more likely to leave a fossil?

The one that dies in a desert area is most likely to only leave a fossil

The one that is covered in sediment can also leave a fossil, however, there may be chances for it to save other 'flesh'

hope this helps
