Given:

Subtract
-7x^2+1 from
-2x^2-4x.

To find:

The result after subtraction.

Solution:

Subtract
-7x^2+1 from
-2x^2-4x. It canbe written as

-2x^2-4x-(-7x^2+1)

Using distributive property, we get

=-2x^2-4x-(-7x^2)-(1)

=-2x^2-4x+7x^2-1

On combining like terms, we get

=(7x^2-2x^2)-4x-1

=5x^2-4x-1

Therefore, the required expression after subtraction is
5x^2-4x-1.
