Is the statement “The absolute value of a number is always greater than its opposite” true?

true. for example if you had a number of -6 the absolute value of -6 would be six, therefore the opposite number would be -6. If you have a number of 9 the absolute value would still be 9 because the absolute value is never negative therefore the opposite of 9 would be -9.

let's check another

| - 7 | is 7, opposite of -7 is +7 or just 7

now is 7 > 7? what the? well, not quite, they're equal.
