slope of the line is

y₂ - y₁
------- = slope
x₂ - x₁

choose one as your "2" & the other as your "1" Plug them in
6 - 2
------
9 - (-7)

4/16
simplify the fraction
4/16 = 1/4

the slope is 1/4

hope this helps
