Body composition is the mix of bone, fat, and muscle of a person. Body composition can affect weight because each of these has a different density. Fat is more dense than muscle, and muscle is more dense than fat. Since muscle is also healthier than fat, what this means in practice is that a person whose body composition has high muscle relative to fat has a correspondingly higher appropriate weight.
