First you graph the y-intercept in both equations. In the fisrt one is (0,1) and in the second is (0,7).
Then you graph the rise and run (slope) of both points. in the first one is 1/1 and in the second is -2/1.
after you graph you draw the lines. the point where it intersects is the solution.

For this you can set the equations equal to each other because it's both y= so you can do x+1<-2x+7 then you can solve for x by collecting like term move the -2x to the other side 3x<6 then divide by 3 6/3=2 so x is 2 then you can sub it in one of the equation to get y 2+1=3 and -4+7=3 so the final answer is (2,3)
