Mrs.Salcido cut a small birthday cake into 6 equal pieces for 6 children. One child was not hungry. So she gave the birthday boy the extra piece. How much cake did each of the five children recieved.

\frac13 of cake and rest each of the 4 children got
\frac16 of cake.

1 cake is divided into 6 pieces.

1 piece =

Birthday boy got 2 pieces.

Part of cake he has =
2*\frac16=\frac26=\frac13 [divide numerator and denominator by 2]

So, birthday boy got
\frac13 of cake and rest each of the 4 children got
\frac16 of cake.
