If a taco recipe yields 30 3oz tacos, what is the scaling factor needed to change the recipe to yield 50 3oz. tacos? 3. CHOCOLATE CHIP BROWNIE 1. Find the conversion factor to scale the Brownie recipe below for 4 servings and 80 servings using the formula: Desired yield • Original yield = Conversion Factor 2. Multiply each ingredient by the conversion factor. 3. When required, change ingredient measurements to use the best equivalent. For example, change 3 teaspoons to 1 tablespoon. 4. 3oz---------------------------->30tacos

3oz----------------------------->50tacos

30/50 = 3/5

((3)/(5))^(-1)=(5)/(3)

3oz = 5/3*30 = 50

1. desired yield ÷ original yield

For yield = 4

4/8 = 1/2

For yield = 80

80/8 = 10

Flour (yield = 4)

1 1/2 cup = 3/2 cup * 1/2 = 3/4 cup

Flour(yield = 80)

3/2 cup * 80 = 120 cup

Baking powder (yield = 4)

1 tsp * 1/2 = 1/2 tsp

Baking powder (yield = 80)

1 tsp * 80 = 80 tsp
