The first equation is given to determine A.
cos A = 2/5
A = cos⁻¹(2/5) = 66.42°
Now that we know A, we use this value to the second equation.
4 + 4tan²A = 4 +24.996 4tan²(66.42°) = 24.996 ≈
25
