Answer: False

The inability to express and manage feelings is a common aspect of substance abuse. Substances can trigger many emotional changes, such as fluctuations in mood, reduced anxiety and feelings of superiority. These changes might make it difficult to comprehend and express emotions. Moreover, people who are dependent on addictive substances can experience damage to work, family and other personal relationships. This alienation further increases the difficulties of emotional disclosure and management.
