The answer is one sp3 orbital from each carbon in the molecule. The carbon - carbon bonds in ethylene have a bond length of 1.54 A. The carbon hydrogen bonds in this molecule are created from the remaining sp3 bonds on the two carbons and the 1s orbitals of the hydrogen atoms meaning they are sigma bonds.
