The people from South America started coming to Texas in order to own land and have many slaves over there.They came in big groups and many people came from Europe thinking that they will be able to have free land in Texas.

It might be said that after Statehood, the Empresario system that was part of a Tejano social system became stronger (option 2) The Mexican government allowed Anglo-Americans to "settle with the Empresario system and land grants in Texas for small $30 fee"
After this, Empresario families stated to follow the Mexican LAw, they became Catholic and they were considered to be of good moral standing.
