The War on Poverty was Johnson's ill fated attempt to create what he called a "Great Society" in which people would never know hunger, poverty, or any other manner of social ill. Like most progressive policies, it failed at everything except making our government bigger and siphoning billions of taxpayer dollars towards the non-producing among us.
