I believe that most of us who work or studying statistic know how to get the df or degrees of freedom nor the formula of it. So, since SS/df = MS, we know that df = SS/MS. Hence, 993/331 = 3 and 1002/50.1 = 20. The degrees of freedom is 3 and the error in this one-factor ANOVA is 20.
