Question

I while watching a show I asked:

"Is she deceased?"
One if my friends corrected me and said it was supposed to be said:
"Is she the deceased?"
We have been having a ridiculous debate over this for the past few days.
Would anyone mind giving out the correct answer with a clear explanation?

"Is she deceased?" because it is a proper question and the other is a weak question but has more detail.... so you are both right..... but the answer would be "Is she deceased?"
