Explain why the zeros are necessary in 10.03 but not in 0.350

Hey there!

Zero's in 10.03 are necessary as they hold a meaningful place value (ones and tenths); however, in 0.350 they do not have any value as they are not between any whole numbers - they are simply place holders.

the zero in 10.03 is necessary, because there is no number in the ten's digit, which needs a place holder if you have something in the hundreds place

the zero in 0.350 is not necessary, because there is nothing after the second 0
