x= miles driven

y=price

The Red Cab Company equation

\begin{gathered} y=1.25x+3.5 \\ \end{gathered}

The Yellow Cab Company equation

y=1.15x+5

we can do the next inequality in order to know what is the company she can take in order to minimize the cost

\begin{gathered} 1.25x+3.5<1.15x+5 \\ 1.25x-1.15x<5-3.5 \\ 0.1x<1.5 \\ x<(1.5)/(0.1) \\ x<15 \end{gathered}

If the airport is located less than 15 miles from the starting point of the travel, the Red Cap Company is the one with less cost

If the airport is located exactly 15 miles from the start point of travel the price of the two companies is exactly the same

If the airport is located more than 15 miles from the start point of travel the price of the Yellow Cab Company is the one with less cost
