A toddler was given 12 boxes of crayons, each of which contained 12 crayons. Within a week, he eventually lost half of the crayons and broke a quarter of the remaining crayons. How many intact crayons did the toddler have at the end of the week?

Answer:

18

Explanation:

You would do 12 • 12 which gets you the number of crayons they first had, then divide by 2 which tell you how many crayons they have after losing half then divide by 4 which tell you the number they have after breaking the crayons.
