Y=mx+c
M=Gradient
So M=-4
Subs (3,40) into Y=-4x+c
So 40=-4(3)+c
40=-12+c
52=c
So the equation of the line should be
Y=-4x+52

I assume the point is (3, 4).
The slope is -4

You can use the point=slope form of the equation of a line.

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

whee m = slope, and (x1, y1) is a point on the line.

You have m = -4, x1 = 3, y1 = 4

y - 4 = -4(x - 3)
