What is the equation of a line that passes through the point (1, 8) and is perpendicular to the line whose equation is y=x2+3 ?

the equation is y=-1/2x+17/2 since if we multiply the slope of the given line by the slope of this line, we will get -1, and if we substitute the coordinates of the given point in this equation, we will get -1/2(1)+17/2=(-1+17)/2=16/2=8
