Given the inequality -8 < 2, explain what happens when you multiply or divide both sides by 2 and what happens when you multiply or divide both sides by -2.

When you multiply or divide each side by 2, the signs stay the same. −16 < 4 and −4 < 1. When you multiply or divide by −2, the inequality sign reverses. 16 > −4 and 4 > −1.

when you divide -8/2=-4 and 2/2=1
-4<1

when you divide by a negative number your sign changes
