Expand the equation.
vj + vy = 61y + 82
Subtract 'vj' from both sides
vy = 61y + 82 - vj
Subtract 61y from both sides
vy - 61y = 82 - vj
Factor out the term y.
y (v - 61) = 82 - vj
Divide both sides by v - 61
y = 82 - vj / v - 61
