You need to subtract 27 from 40 so it should look like this 40-27= and 40-27=13 so he put 13 balls in each machine.

Answer:

Total Number of bouncy balls in two bags

=One bag contains 27 millimeter balls + One bag contains 40 millimeter balls

=27 +40

=67

Now ,67 balls are put equally in 2 machines.

67 is an odd number which can't be divided into equal parts.

→67=33(Machine 1) +34(Machine 2)

or

→67=34(Machine 1) +33(Machine 2)
