A department store's customer parking lot has 4 rows with an equal number of parking spots in each row. The lot also has 15 parking spots for store employees. If c cars can be parked in each of the 4 main rows of the parking lot, what is the expression for the maximum number of cars that can be parked in the parking lot?

15c − 4
c(15 − 4)
4c + 15
4(c + 15)

My guess is 4c + 15, since we don't know how many cars can be parked in each row it will be 4c and add 15 parking spots for the store employees.

Answer:

The expression for the maximum number of cars that can be parked in the parking lot is:

4c+15

Explanation:

As there are a total of 4 rows.

and If c cars can be parked in each of the 4 main rows of the parking lot then the total number of cars that are parked in all the rows are:

4c

Also, 15 parking spots are for store employees.

Hence, the maximum number of cars that can be parked is represented by the expression as:

4c+15
