Write an equation in point-slope form of the line through point J(-8,10) with slope -5.

A. y + 10 = -5(x + 8)
B. y - 10 = 5(x + 8)

Point-slope form is y - y1 = m(x - x1). If you apply that point and the slope to the formula (hence the name point-slope), you'd get y - 10 = -5(x + 8).

REVISE: I accidently put y instead of x in the -5(x + 8) part. It's fixed now.
