To find the original price of the shirt:
35*3=105

To find the original price of the shoes:
28*5=140

To find the total amount of money the shirt and shoes cost before they went on sale:
105+140=145

There's your answer.

Remember: realistically, there would be sales tax, so this wouldn't be the exact amount of money they would be paying.
