An absolute phrase has the form NOUN+PARTICIPLE+MODIFIERS AND/OR OBJECT and instead of modifying a specific word the absolute phrase describes the sentence as a whole. In this case the absolute phrase is “Eyes glittering with concentration”. Where Eyes is the noun, glittering is the participle, and concentration is the object.
