How were woman valued in chinese society?

From my knowledge, they supervised children's education and managed the family finances. Some found outside jobs such as working as midwives or textile workers. Women were seen as inferior to men, so most women were forced to remain secluded in their homes.

Women were valued as they were considered inferior to men. Traditional Chinese society and culture was male dominated. A woman was regarded as a subordinate to her father, husband and son.
