Animal Wax - common example is beeswax. It is mainly composed of ester myricyl palmitate which is used to make honeycombs. Other insects/animals secrete or release waxes.

Plant Wax - waxes are secreted on the cuticle surfaces. It often composed of mixtures of substituted aliphatic hydrocarbons which consist of alkyl esters, alcohols, aldehydes and etc.
