-3(4x+3) + 4(6x+1) = 43
(-3{4x}) + (-3{3}) + (4{6x}) + (4{1}) = 43
(-12x) + (-9) + (24x) + (4) = 43
add like terms
(-12x + 24x) + (-9 + 4) = 43
(12x) + (-5) = 43
take -5 to the other side, this is possible by canceeling -5 with +5
12x - 5 + 5 = 43 + 5
12x = 48
to find x divide by 12 on both sides

(12x)/(12) =
(48)/(12)
x = 4

check:
-3(4{4} + 3) + 4(6{4} + 1) = 43
-3(16 + 3) + 4(24 + 1) = 43
-3(19) + 4(25) = 43
-57 + 100 = 43
43 = 43
