−2x − 4 > 8 work to isolate the variable.
+4 +4 add 4 to both sides
-2x > 12
-2/-2x > 12/-2 divide both sides by two
x > -6 but remember - when dividing or multiplying by a negative, switch.

final answer:
x < -6

hope this helps and have a great day! :D

-2x - 4 > 8

First you would add 4 to both sides.

-2x > 12

Then divide both sides by 2

x < -6
