So just for future reference, know that "solve by using inverse operations" is basically just undoing the problem.

a) 7x - 15 = 1
First thing to do is add 15 to both sides (inverse of subtracting 15).
7x = 16
Now divide both sides by 7 (inverse of multiplying by 7).
x = 16/7

b) (x+2)/4 = -2
Multiply both sides by 4.
x + 2 = -8
Now subtract 2 from both sides.
x = -10
