When two reactants combine to form a product, the product have to be different than the reactant.
Common sense If A combines with B to form AB, then AB is chemically different from A and B

The answer to this question would be: A. They are different than the reactants.

A product of a chemical reaction will be different from the reactant that used to make it. Just because the product is made from reactant, doesn't mean that the reactant character will be inherited by the product.
