6x-2y+1=0 (1)
3x-5y+7=0 (2)

multiply equation (2) by negative 2 (-2)
3x-5y+7=0 (2) will become
-6x + 10y - 14 = 0

now you have

6x - 2y + 1=0
-6x + 10y - 14 = 0
-----------------------------add
8y - 13 = 0
8y = 13
y = 13/8
y = 1.625

substitute y = 1.625 into 6x-2y+1=0

6x-2y+1=0
6x-2(1.625)+1=0
6x - 3.25 + 1 = 0
6x - 2.25
6x = 2.25
x = 0.375

answer
solution (0.375, 1.625)
