(-3)^4 means (-3) times itself 4 times
that is (-3)(-3)(-3)(-3) which simlifies to (9)(9) which simplifies to 81

if ya wanted to do the -1, then fine, here
just remember that
(ab)^c=(a^c)(b^c)

so

(-3)^4=

((-1)(3))^4=

(-1)^4(3)^4=

(1)(81)=
81

Multiply the value -3 with itself and have a total of four copies. We have four copies multiplied since the exponent is 4

(-3)*(-3)*(-3)*(-3) = (-3 * -3) * (-3 * -3) = (9)*(9) = 81

So overall, (-3)^4 = 81 making 81 to be the final answer.
