The absolute value off something is just the distance it is away from zero, so the absolute value of 5 and -3 are 5 and 3. The answer would be 2 be use you are just subtracting 5-3.

Answer:

The answer is 2.

Explanation:

In order to determine the value of the expression, we have to know about absolute value function.

The absolute value function is a function that only change the sign into positive and maintain the values. It is represented by " | x | " where x can be any number.

For example, if
x=-2

|x|=|(-2)|=2

In this case, we have the next values:

a=5\\b=-3\\\\|a|-|b|\\|5|-|(-3)|\\5-3\\2

Finally, the value of the expression is 2.
