y_1=4(5^x-1) and
y_2=5^x+1

y_1=344+2y_2

y_1=344+2(5^x+1)

4(5^x-1) = 344 + 2(5^x+1)

(4)(5^x)-4=344+2(5^x)+2

4(5^x)-2(5^x)=344+2+4

2(5^x)=350

5^x= (350)/(2)

5^x=175

log(5^x)=log(175)

x(log(5))=log(175)

x= (log175)/(log5)

x=3.21 (rounded to two decimal places)
