Each dive goes further down, so it represents -50 ft (not positive which would represnt going up).

y= -125-50x

We know that there are 3 dives so plug that in for x
y= -125-50(3)
y= -125-150
y= -275

Final answer: -275 ft

Answer:

275 feet below sea level

Explanation:

The distance of submarine from sea level= -125 feet

The submarine makes 3 dives of 50 feet

Total distance covered in 3 dives= 3×(-50 )= - 150 feet

We have to find the total distance after 3 dives of submarines

The total distance of submarine from sea level= -125-150

The total distance of submarine from sea level= -275 feet

The submarine is at 275 feet below sea level

Hence, the correct answer is 275 feet below sea level.
