8x + 5
x^2 - 3|8x^3 + 5x^2 - 12x + 10
- (8x^3 + 0x^2 - 24x)
5x^2 + 12x + 10
- (5x^2 + 0x - 15)
12x + 25

Quotient: 8x + 5 + ((12x + 25)/(x^2 - 3))

After a long division:

8x^3+5x^2-12x+10=(x^2-3)(8x+5)+12x+25
