To get common denominators, you multiply x/2 by 3 and 2x/3 by 2 and you get 3x/6 + 4x/6 and you combine them and get 7x/6. And to get rid of the 6 on the denominator, you multiply both sides by 6. So now you have 7x=30 and now you divide 30 by 7 and x=30/7
