We have to find the scale factor of figure A'B'C'D' which is the dilated image of quadrilateral ABCD.

Now we choose a line segment AB and compare it with line segment A'B'.

Since length of AB = 4 units

and length of A'B' = 1 units

So ratio of AB and A'B' =
(A'B')/(AB)=(1)/(4)

so the scale factor of the image is
(1)/(4)
