Greetings!

"If x equals 3 and z equals 4, find the value of y in the equation:
12xy-6x=18z."

Input the value of the variables we were given:

12(3)y-6(3)=18(4)
Simplify.

36y-18=72
Add 18 to both sides.

(36y-18)+18=(72)+18
Simplify.

36y=90
Divide both sides by 36.

(36y)/36=(90)/36
Simplify.

y=5/2

y=2.5

The variable, y is equal to 2.5.

Hope this helps.
